SECTION 775.30. Terrorism; defined; penalties.

1 (1) 2 As used in this chapter and the Florida Criminal Code, the terms “terrorism” or “terrorist activity” mean an activity that:22 (a) 23 Involves:24 1. 25 A violent act or an act dangerous to human life which is a violation of the criminal laws of this state or of the United States; or
52 2. 53 A violation of s. 57 815.06 ; 58 and59 (b) 60 Is intended to:63 1. 64 Intimidate, injure, or coerce a civilian population;
71 2. 72 Influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
83 3. 84 Affect the conduct of government through destruction of property, assassination, murder, kidnapping, or aircraft piracy.
99 (2) 100 A person who violates s. 105 782.04(1)(a)1106 . or (2), s. 110 782.065 , 111 s. 112 782.07(1) , 113 s. 114 782.09 , 115 s. 116 784.045 , 117 s. 118 784.07 , 119 s. 120 787.01 , 121 s. 122 787.02 , 123 s. 124 787.07 , 125 s. 126 790.115 , 127 s. 128 790.15 , 129 s. 130 790.16 , 131 s. 132 790.161 , 133 s. 134 790.1615 , 135 s. 136 790.162 , 137 s. 138 790.166 , 139 s. 140 790.19 , 141 s. 142 806.01 , 143 s. 144 806.031 , 145 s. 146 806.111 , 147 s. 148 815.06 , 149 s. 150 815.061 , 151 s. 152 859.01 , 153 or s. 155 876.34 , 156 in furtherance of intimidating or coercing the policy of a government, or in furtherance of affecting the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping, commits the crime of terrorism, a felony of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 199 775.082 , 200 s. 201 775.083 , 202 or s. 204 775.084205 .206 (3) 207 A person who commits a violation of subsection (2) which results in death or serious bodily injury commits a life felony, punishable as provided in s. 233 775.082 , 234 s. 235 775.083 , 236 or s. 238 775.084239 . As used in this subsection, the term “serious bodily injury” means an injury to a person which creates a substantial risk of death, serious personal disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member or an organ.
