SECTION 985.6885. Persons authorized to visit juvenile facilities.

1(1) 2The following persons may visit at their pleasure between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. all facilities housing juveniles which are operated or overseen by the department or a county:34(a) 35The Governor.
37(b) 38A Cabinet member.
41(c) 42A member of the Legislature.
47(d) 48A judge of a state court.
54(e) 55A state attorney.
58(f) 59A public defender.
62(g) 63A person authorized by the secretary of the department.
72(2) 73A person specified in subsection (1) may visit a facility subject to this section before 6 a.m. or after 11 p.m. pursuant to rules adopted by the department.
101(3) 102The department may not unreasonably withhold permission to visit a facility subject to this section from a person who gives sufficient evidence that he or she is a bona fide reporter or writer.
135(4) 136The department shall adopt rules to implement this section.
