  SECTION 914.21. Definitions.

  • 1As used in ss. 5914.226-7914.24, 8the term:
    10(1) 11“Bodily injury” means:
    14(a) 15A cut, abrasion, bruise, burn, or disfigurement;
    22(b) 23Physical pain;
    25(c) 26Illness;
    27(d) 28Impairment of the function of a bodily member, organ, or mental faculty; or
    41(e) 42Any other injury to the body, no matter how temporary.
    52(2) 53“Misleading conduct” means:
    56(a) 57Knowingly making a false statement;
    62(b) 63Intentionally omitting information from a statement and thereby causing a portion of such statement to be misleading, or intentionally concealing a material fact and thereby creating a false impression by such statement;
    95(c) 96With intent to mislead, knowingly submitting or inviting reliance on a writing or recording that is false, forged, altered, or otherwise lacking in authenticity;
    120(d) 121With intent to mislead, knowingly submitting or inviting reliance on a sample, specimen, map, photograph, boundary mark, or other object that is misleading in a material respect; or
    149(e) 150Knowingly using a trick, scheme, or device with intent to mislead.
    161(3) 162“Official investigation” means any investigation instituted by a law enforcement agency or prosecuting officer of the state or a political subdivision of the state or the Commission on Ethics.
    191(4) 192“Official proceeding” means:
    195(a) 196A proceeding before a judge or court or a grand jury;
    207(b) 208A proceeding before the Legislature;
    213(c) 214A proceeding before a federal agency that is authorized by law; or
    226(d) 227A proceeding before the Commission on Ethics.
    234(5) 235“Physical force” means physical action against another and includes confinement.
