SECTION 627.4205. Coverage identification number required.

1An insurer shall provide to the named insured a coverage identification number no later than the time insurance coverage under a policy, binder, or other contract providing any insurance or surety coverage becomes effective. The coverage identification number shall be construed for regulatory purposes under this code as a policy number.
