  SECTION 480.047. Penalties.

  • 1(1) 2It is unlawful for any person to:
    9(a) 10Hold himself or herself out as a massage therapist or to practice massage unless duly licensed under this chapter or unless otherwise specifically exempted from licensure under this chapter.
    39(b) 40Operate any massage establishment unless it has been duly licensed as provided herein, except that nothing herein shall be construed to prevent the teaching of massage in this state at a board-approved massage school.
    74(c) 75Permit an employed person to practice massage unless duly licensed as provided herein.
    88(d) 89Present as his or her own the license of another.
    99(e) 100Allow the use of his or her license by an unlicensed person.
    112(f) 113Give false or forged evidence to the department in obtaining any license provided for herein.
    128(g) 129Falsely impersonate any other licenseholder of like or different name.
    139(h) 140Use or attempt to use a license that has been revoked.
    151(i) 152Otherwise violate any of the provisions of this act.
    161(2) 162Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, any person violating the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 191775.082 192or s. 194775.083195.
