  SECTION 477.029. Penalty.

  • 1(1) 2It is unlawful for any person to:
    9(a) 10Hold himself or herself out as a cosmetologist or specialist unless duly licensed or registered, or otherwise authorized, as provided in this chapter.
    33(b) 34Operate any cosmetology salon unless it has been duly licensed as provided in this chapter.
    49(c) 50Permit an employed person to practice cosmetology or a specialty unless duly licensed or registered, or otherwise authorized, as provided in this chapter.
    73(d) 74Present as his or her own the license of another.
    84(e) 85Give false or forged evidence to the department in obtaining any license provided for in this chapter.
    102(f) 103Impersonate any other licenseholder of like or different name.
    112(g) 113Use or attempt to use a license that has been revoked.
    124(h) 125Violate any provision of s. 130455.227(1), 131s. 132477.0265, 133or s. 135477.028136.
    137(i) 138Violate or refuse to comply with any provision of this chapter or chapter 455 or a rule or final order of the board or the department.
    164(2) 165Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be subject to one or more of the following penalties, as determined by the board:
    190(a) 191Revocation or suspension of any license or registration issued pursuant to this chapter.
    204(b) 205Issuance of a reprimand or censure.
    211(c) 212Imposition of an administrative fine not to exceed $500 for each count or separate offense.
    227(d) 228Placement on probation for a period of time and subject to such reasonable conditions as the board may specify.
    247(e) 248Refusal to certify to the department an applicant for licensure.
