  SECTION 446.44. Duties of Rural Workforce Services Program.

  • 1It shall be the direct responsibility of the Rural Workforce Services Program to promote and deliver employment and workforce services and resources to the rural undeveloped and underdeveloped counties of the state in an effort to:
    37(1) 38Slow down out-migration of untrained rural residents to the state’s overcrowded large metropolitan centers.
    52(2) 53Assist Enterprise Florida, Inc., in attracting light, pollution-free industry to the rural counties.
    66(3) 67Improve the economic status of the impoverished rural residents.
    76(4) 77Provide present and new industry with the workforce training resources necessary for them to train the untrained rural workforce toward gainful employment.
    99(5) 100Develop rural workforce programs that will be evaluated, planned, and implemented through communications and planning with appropriate:
    117(a) 118Departments of state and federal governments.
    124(b) 125Units of Enterprise Florida, Inc.
    130(c) 131Agencies and organizations of the public and private sectors at the state, regional, and local levels.
