  SECTION 381.0053. Comprehensive nutrition program.

  • 1(1) 2It is the intent of the Legislature to make available nutrition information to promote health and prevent disease for the citizens of the state and to provide nutrition assessment and diet counseling services to improve the nutritional status of indigent persons.
    43(2) 44The department shall implement a comprehensive nutrition program which shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    62(a) 63Nutritional assessment and diet counseling for persons with nutritional risk factors who are provided health services through public health programs.
    83(b) 84Nutrition education to promote optimum health of the citizens of the state.
    96(c) 97Consultative nutrition services to group care facilities that promote the provision of safe and nutritionally adequate diets.
    114(3) 115Services shall be available to eligible persons in accordance with eligibility criteria adopted by the department. Fees for services shall be developed by the department.
