  SECTION 373.472. Save Our Everglades Trust Fund.

  • 1(1) 2There is created within the Department of Environmental Protection the Save Our Everglades Trust Fund. Funds in the trust fund shall be expended to implement the comprehensive plan as defined in s. 34373.470(2); 35the Lake Okeechobee Watershed Protection Plan as defined in s. 45373.4595(2); 46the Caloosahatchee River Watershed Protection Plan as defined in s. 56373.4595(2); 57the St. Lucie River Watershed Protection Plan as defined in s. 68373.4595(2); 69the Long-Term Plan as defined in s. 76373.4592(2); 77and the Florida Keys Area of Critical State Concern protection program under ss. 90380.05 91and 92380.0552 93to restore and conserve natural systems through the implementation of water management projects, including wastewater management projects identified in the “Keys Wastewater Plan” dated November 2007 and submitted to the Florida House of Representatives on December 4, 2007. The trust fund shall serve as the repository for state, local, and federal project contributions in accordance with s. 150373.470(4)151.
    152(2) 153The trust fund is not subject to the service charge described in s. 166215.20(1)167. All income of a revenue nature, including interest or other earnings received or credited by the trust fund, shall be credited to the fund.
    192(3) 193Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 198216.301 199and pursuant to s. 203216.351, 204any balance in the trust fund at the end of any fiscal year shall remain in the trust fund at the end of the year and shall be available for carrying out the purposes of the trust fund.
