  SECTION 348.62. Acquisition of lands and property.

  • 1(1) 2For the purpose of this part, the authority may acquire private or public property and property rights including rights of access, air, view and light by gift, devise, purchase or condemnation by eminent domain proceedings, as the authority may deem necessary for any of the purposes of this part. The right of eminent domain herein conferred shall be exercised by the authority in the manner provided by law, in particular chapter 74.
    74(2) 75The authority may acquire such rights, title, interest or easements in such lands and property as it may deem necessary for any of the purposes of this part.
    103(3) 104In connection with the acquisition of property or property rights as herein provided, the authority may in its discretion, acquire an entire lot, block, parcel or tract of land, if by so doing the interest of the public will be best served, even though such entire lot, block, parcel or tract is not immediately needed for the right-of-way proper.
