  SECTION 20.10. Department of State.

  • 1There is created a Department of State.
    8(1) 9The head of the Department of State is the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State shall be appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor. The Secretary of State shall perform the functions conferred by the State Constitution upon the custodian of state records.
    65(2) 66The following divisions of the Department of State are established:
    76(a) 77Division of Elections.
    80(b) 81Division of Historical Resources.
    85(c) 86Division of Corporations.
    89(d) 90Division of Library and Information Services.
    96(e) 97Division of Cultural Affairs.
    101(f) 102Division of Administration.
    105(3) 106The Department of State may adopt rules pursuant to ss. 116120.536(1) 117and 118120.54 119to administer the provisions of law conferring duties upon the department.
