  SECTION 154.067. Child abuse and neglect cases; duties.

  • 1The Department of Health shall adopt a rule requiring every county health department, as described in s. 18154.01, 19to adopt a protocol that, at a minimum, requires the county health department to:
    33(1) 34Incorporate in its health department policy a policy that every staff member has an affirmative duty to report, pursuant to chapter 39, any actual or suspected case of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect; and
    68(2) 69In any case involving suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect, designate, at the request of the department, a staff physician to act as a liaison between the county health department and the Department of Children and Families office that is investigating the suspected abuse, abandonment, or neglect, and the Child Protection Team, as defined in s. 12539.01, 126when the case is referred to such a team.
