SECTION 125.82. Charter adoption by ordinance.

1(1) 2As a supplemental and alternative way to the provisions of ss. 13125.6014-15125.64, 16inclusive, the board of county commissioners may propose by ordinance a charter consistent with the provisions of this part and provide for a special election pursuant to the procedures established in s. 48101.161(1) 49with notice published as provided in s. 56100.34257. The time period provided in s. 64125.64 65does not apply to the proposal of a charter by ordinance under this section.
79(2) 80Any charter proposed under this section which was adopted by vote of the electors at an election conducted and noticed in conformance with the requirements of ss. 107100.342 108and 109101.161(1) 110is hereby ratified.
