  SECTION 1003.04. Student conduct and parental involvement.

  • 1(1) 2Each public K-12 student must remain in attendance throughout the school year, unless excused by the school for illness or other good cause, and must comply fully with the school’s code of conduct.
    35(2) 36The parent of each public K-12 student must cooperate with the authority of the student’s district school board, superintendent, principal, teachers, and school bus drivers, according to ss. 641003.31 65and 661003.32, 67to remove the student from the classroom and the school bus and, when appropriate and available, to place the student in an alternative educational setting, if the student is disobedient, disrespectful, violent, abusive, uncontrollable, or disruptive.
    103(3) 104It is the goal of the Legislature and each district school board that the parent of each public K-12 student comply with the school’s reasonable and time-acceptable parental involvement requests.
