  SECTION 1002.73. Department of Education; powers and duties; accountability requirements.

    19(2) 20The department shall adopt procedures for its:

    39(b) 40Approval of emergent literacy training courses under ss. 481002.55 49and 501002.5951.
    52(c) 53Administration of the statewide kindergarten screening and calculation of kindergarten readiness rates under s. 671002.6968.
    69(d) 70Implementation of, and determination of costs associated with, the state-approved prekindergarten enrollment screening and the standardized postassessment approved by the department, and determination of the learning gains of students who complete the state-approved prekindergarten enrollment screening and the standardized postassessment approved by the department.
    114(e) 115Approval of specialized instructional services providers under s. 1231002.66124.
    125(f) 126Annual reporting of the percentage of kindergarten students who meet all state readiness measures.
    140(g) 141Granting of a private prekindergarten provider’s or public school’s request for a good cause exemption under s. 1581002.69(7)159.
    160(3) 161Except as provided by law, the department may not impose requirements on a private prekindergarten provider that does not deliver the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program or receive state funds under this part.
